Squarespace Case Study.

Opportunity:

Founded in 2021, The McMinnville Short Film Festival fosters a critical component of Oregon's Yamhill County arts community by connecting local filmmakers with their counterparts around the world, and by providing a venue for culturally diverse screenings, events, and gatherings.

They came to me in need of a new website that would be easy for all team members to update and maintain. Their existing site was outdated, challenging to edit without HTML experience, not to mention the navigation made it difficult to direct each audience of filmmakers, donors, and attendees.

Back to portfolio.

Solution:

Working close with the Founders, Squarespace was the chosen platform for its pricing, functionalities, and ability to make changes quickly. The first phase of the project started with a kick-off call to learn more about their brand, goals and key functionalities required of the new website. During the second phase of this project, I managed the website overhaul and supported creating the SEO-friendly copy designed to drive awareness.

Results:

The updated website was completed in 6 weeks and provided an immediate bump in new traffic.

  • Website traffic increased by 5x.

  • The bounce rate decreased by 12%.

“Charlotte was a pleasure to work with; we are so delighted that we got connected with her! When we needed our new website built for the McMinnville Short Film Festival, she delivered everything we asked of her, and more. She was thorough in assessing our requirements up front, then delivered on-schedule and on-budget, and made sure to take the time to educate us on how to use Squarespace once the new site had been handed off to us, and continued to follow up to make sure everything was running smoothly. A top notch experience from start to finish!”
